PMXRated Capacity Indicator

James Fisher Prolec has been shortlisted for ‘technological innovation of the year’ at the London Construction Awards for its industry-revolutionising automatic machine safety limiting system, PMX.

Prolec’s PMX system is based on advancements to its existing RCI with height and slew limiting system (PME500), offering advanced functionality such as the capability to quickly and automatically set limits for machine envelope control, using GPS, digital terrain models and Total Station Theodolite (TST) technology to identify the location of hazards and continuously monitor a machine’s location and proximity to them.

PMX offers enhanced productivity, time efficiency, accuracy and safety as hazard locations only need to be defined once, then any machine equipped with PMX will re-establish its own limits relative to its location to identified hazards, to create a safe working envelope with minimal additional input.

“We are thrilled to be shortlisted for this award which marks a culmination of expansion for the Prolec team and our dedication to offering truly innovative, advanced technological safety solutions for the construction industry. To be nominated reflects the hard-work and dedication of everyone at the company.”

Nigel Shaw, General Manager at Prolec

The technological innovation of the year award category recognises the growing impact that software and technology have on the construction industry and will be judged by heads of UK construction. Being shortlisted for this prodigious award highlights the industry’s recognition of Prolec’s commitment to improving both the productivity and safety of construction machinery and personnel through technological advancement and innovation.
