Accredited construction safety system training launched by JF Prolec and the CTA

JF Prolec and CTA to deliver NPORS accredited courses which enable operators to maximise site safety whilst using JF Prolec’s PME systems

James Fisher Prolec (JF Prolec), the world-leader in innovative machine productivity and safety systems, has developed a suite of customer-centric accredited training courses for its industry-leading PME product range, to be delivered in conjunction with the Construction Training Academy (CTA).

During consultation with customers, plant operators and site safety supervisors, Prolec gathered significant feedback that identified a need for practical training in using the PME systems in real-world conditions. In response, the course has been designed to offer personalised, hands on support, covering the use of the system and its set up on site.

A key emphasis of the delivery is creating a safe working environment, and all those taking part in the training will benefit from both technical and practical insights. The course addresses a wider skills gap in the sector as identified through our consultation and concentrates on competencies that up-skill operators in an increasingly safety conscious industry.

The courses are fully accredited by the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS). This backing - from one of the leading accreditation boards - will ensure training is delivered to the highest possible standards.

“CTA places safety as the top priority in all aspects of our training and accreditation delivery. We are very pleased to be working in strategic partnership with James Fisher Prolec in bringing a fully accredited training solution to the market on a national scale.”

Nick Bowers, Director at the Construction Training Academy

With the investment of three excavators fitted with the entire PME range of products, JF Prolec and CTA can deliver training on the full system and its necessary safety features, or just as easily, more bespoke training to specifically cover the system a customer already has in place.

To maximise the effectiveness of the course, and ensure operators are fully equipped to use Prolec’s safety systems, groups are limited to a maximum of four operators at a time, allowing for practical, hands-on experience, ensuring that operators arrive on-site with total confidence and working knowledge of the system.

“After listening to our product end users, JF Prolec has developed this course to enable operators to use the system hassle free from the moment they sit in the machine’s cab. This will enable the construction industry to work in a safer and more productive manner.

Our training package has been specifically designed to address a growing skills gap in the market and we are confident that the safety-enhanced operating practices we are teaching will be well received by the wider industry.”

CTA was identified as the partner of choice due to its specialist experience in the construction training market, together with its in-house facilities to deliver professional training courses in exacting environments.

Prolec’s PME systems ensure control and safety for any requirement, whether that’s rated capacity indication, height limitation, slew limitation or any possible combination.
