Envelope Monitoring: Rangemaster
The Prolec Rangemaster envelope monitoring system is a system designed to aid the operator in using the machine equipment within a safe working envelope. This envelope is defined by the machine manufacturer and describes the operating area in which the base machine is stable. Exceeding the safe working envelope means the machine is operating outside its stable region, and so there is a risk of the machine tipping.

The Rangemaster envelope monitoring system has the following features:
- The operator is warned when approaching the predefined operational envelope limit.
- The operator is warned when the predefined operational limit is reached or exceeded.
- The pressure in the boom main lift ram is monitored via the pressure relief check valves, and alerts the operator if exceeded. This warns the operator of impending hydraulic limit conditions which could cause the equipment to free fall.
- The on board data logger records the occurance of the equipment exceeding the predefined limit and/or exceeding the preset pressure monitor limit.
