Angle sensors used in these applications must be both robust and accurate; the AS8 meets both demands. The AS8 is made from marine-grade stainless steel and offers a true IP68 installation. While other sensors claim to be suitable for marine use, they are often made from lower-grade materials, such as mild steel or aluminium, typically attached using traditional cable methods. In contrast, AS8 angle sensors are installed using hydraulic hose and all connections are made using hydraulic fittings. At 0.09', the sensors are more than twice as accurate as standard accelerometer based alternatives.

A critical element in our marine sector success is our application specific software. Prolec's pcX-Pro has several 'off the shelf' variants, but full customisation is available to meet specific requirements. The Digmaster product has also been deployed with great success in many marine applications and offers several industry-standard output formats that allow the system to operate with survey packages already used by the customer.

Prolec systems are commonly found in dredging applications, both land-based and barge-mounted, installed on standard excavators, grab dredgers and rope cranes. A growing marine sector for Prolec systems has been in breakwater and armour rock constructions, with our products being the preferred solution for prestigious projects such as the Palm Island project in Dubai, the Pearl of Qatar and many others.
